Happy Birthday Babies!

I really can't believe that one year has passed by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we were told that we were going to deliver the following Wednesday February 20, 2008. We were so nervous and so excited to meet you both. We didn't know what the next year would hold but we were ready for whatever was in store for us.

The first two weeks were crazy. You were both in the NICU and I felt like you two would never come home. I really didn't know that I had so much more love in me until I saw your little faces. When you came into the world I knew you had truly completed our family.

The next two months are a bit of a blur. There was crying, a lot of crying. Not much sleeping and lots of nursing. I learned at that point how to fall asleep while sitting up and nursing you both at the same time. I even figured out how to prop my laptop up so I could type and nurse at the same time. There was a permanent imprint of my butt on the couch for those two months. Then we found out that both of you had reflux. It was the reason you were crying so much. After we got that under control life became a lot easier.

The next 4 months were still a blur. We just weren't sleeping much. But you both started to smile and look at us and it just made our world brighten up. Your big brother and sister just adored you both. Their favorite was when they would hold one of you and you would fart on them. They thought it was hilarious.

Starting around 6 months our world started to change. You both started sleeping a little more. Like 4 whole hours in a row. The only problem was that you would never do it at the same time. But you both starting sitting up and playing more. Your little personalities came out and they were so much fun. Ella you are a total drama queen with a little smile that will charm all the boys. Beck you are a super chill dude with the greatest belly laughs in the world.

Around 8 months you both started to move around. We were a little scared of what was to come, but it turned out to be a blast. We love watching you explore and find all of the new things in your world.

And now that you are both one year old we are loving you more than ever before. Every day is a new adventure and we love being able to join you to see what you discover. We strive to enjoy every single day with you. We know that it all goes by way to fast. You two little rays of sunshine combined with your brother and sister give us a life filled with love, joy, and dreams of what you will all become.

always moving in different directions

I know, I post nothing for a week and then 2 back to back. Its just the way I roll, homies! The babies will be one on Friday! No one is walking yet and I sort of hope that lasts a little longer. But they are starting to stand up and cruise along the furniture. Ella has another tooth about to pop through. Which means we have had some sleepless nights but hopefully it will pop through soon.

Somehow I ended up with a new boyfriend/hubby today. ;) Check him out. Almost didn't recognize him when he walked in. Love it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been in a blog funk and have nothing to say and no god pics to post. I have almost weaned the twins.

We are down to just one nursing a day. Its really nice. We have almost completed the playhouse. The kids are loving it!

My fab hubby made me a hair appointment for my valentine's gift. It may seem strange to you but I used to get my hair done (cut and colored) every 6 weeks. And since the babies have been born I have had it cut twice and colored it myself. So this was a super treat. I love my stylist Gregg! If you need someone good, go try him out.

First Tooth!

Ella got her first tooth today! It only took 11.5 months. She has been a total stinker for the last two weeks. I was really thinking of selling her to the gypsies (not really) but it was a thought. Its amazing as soon as I thought I couldn't take the screaming anymore she turned back into her happy baby self. It is so nice! Now lets hope the other teeth coming in are easier.

I'll post some pics later. With the sad baby and hormonal mommy not much has been happening around here. We did get a brand new swingset for the kids this week. Brandon has been busy putting it together all week. He had some help from his buddy Mike on Wednesday but has been doing it on his own since then. Its looking really good! The kids are already having a blast playing on it and we aren't even done.
