Christmas Shopping

Have you started yet? Are you almost done? Or were you done a month ago?

We are just getting started in our house here. The big kids are gone, so we headed out to Best Buy today to pick up a few things. I won't say what we got just in case they happen to read this.

So while we were there we happen by the open box aisle of TV's. And what ended up in the back of the an with the babies? A freaking huge tv that we got for half off. Merry Christmas to us. I swear it didn't look that big in the store. But at home is HUGE!!!

Now we just have tohope that our washer gets fixed and we don't have to buy a new washer for Christmas.

Almost forgot to post

Almost to the end! Amazingly I have kept up with it. How, I really don't know. Downside- I never got to any posts with content. That will have to be next month. Any ideas? This whole having to post has given me the greatest case of writers block ever. When I try and think I just go blank. I know someone tagged me to do something but my sleep deprived brain won't let me remember. Off to bed...

So Full!

Can we just sit on the couch all day long and let the food digest...the day after thanksgiving? The babies enjoyed their first thanksgiving feast. I think they tried just about everything and loved it all. We had so much good food, it was amazing.

The babies are into everything this week. We found Beck climbing up the stairs and then just this evening climbing up the tv stand. We are so in trouble!

Ella is much more cautious but just as inquisitive. We introduced rolling a ball to her and she thinks its just the greatest thing ever. Still no teeth for my girl. But I know she'll have some y the time she's 18, so I'm not too worried! :)

Dead dolls...

So seriously sad! I found out that the dog got into HL's room when we were gone and heard a report of some doll damage.

I didn't realize it was this bad!!! Nancy(my sister) and I walked up to the room to check out the damage, I was appalled. The dog literally tore the dolls limb to limb.

And these aren't any normal dolls either. They are American Girl dolls, that cost $90 per doll! I looked into the doll hospital and its about half the cost of the doll to get them fixed.

I am just so sad. I hate to see these dolls all ripped up. My dog is so dead to me right now. He could have ripped up anything else in there and it wouldn't of been that big of a deal but he chose the most expensive dolls in the room. ARRRRGGGGGGGG!!!!

Shower Fun

We are having a baby shower tomorrow for our fabulous friend who just adopted her sweet sweet baby. So excited! I'll post pics tomorrow of all the gorgeous decorations that were there. :)

9 months old!

My babies are NINE MONTHS OLD today! Can you believe it? The time has flown by in hindsight but dragged during those really really sleep deprived days. They have grown and changed so much.

Some accomplishments:

Both are crawling
Beck is pulling up everywhere
Ella will stand if propped
Both hold their own bottle
Ella can pile drive food into her mouth
Beck still likes to be fed
They love playing together
Beck has 5 teeth
Ella has 0 teeth
Had to drop becks crib because of all of the pulling up
They absolutely love their big bro and sis
They eat everything we put in front of them
They yell at us if we don't share what we are eating with them
They have just started to notice TV
When out in public they have found their screechy yells (its real nice)
Still nursing
So sweet

I am just loving this stage even though they move. I didn't know it could be this fun. Now if they would only sleep through the night on the same nights.

For those with animals and babies

Where did you move your dog's water bowl when your little one started crawling? Our water bowl for our monster great dane is huge and elevated. I could seriously give the babies a bath in water bowl, it is that big and that deep. And what is the most magnetic thing in the kitchen? A BIG SILVER bowl sitting on a small chair with lots of fun splashy water in it. When you are almost 9 months old and pulling up on EVERYTHING, I'm sure it seems like even more fun to go see what's in that big bowl.

So now Mr. Beck has pulled the bowl onto himself twice. Once under my watchful eye and once under my hubby's. It takes a minimum of 8 towels to clean up all the water and a bath to clean the boy that is covered in nasty dog water.

I don't know where to put it now. I could gate the kitchen off and keep it in there. I could put it outside. But those are the only two options. We don't really have space anywhere else. But I feel bad not allowing the dog access to his water at all times.

so very very tired

sleep seems to be escaping our household again. we have one baby that will sleep through the night but the other baby wakes up every night. i hear you asking, which baby sleeps...right. well that's the funny thing. its never the same baby. they conspire against us to make sure that no one gets a full nights sleep. its nice, seriously nice. i really thought that after almost 9 months we might of gotten a few nights of full sleep but that is yet to come. but judging on how fast this year is flying by, i know that the sleeplessness will be a distant memory before we know it. and gosh darn it, these babies are so DARN CUTE!!! we are having a blast even though they are both moving and into EVERYTHING. i wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world.

Brandon is at work and I'm sure wishing he was at home.

Busy day tomorrow- Brother coming in town and staying with us (cue emergency last minute cleaning), Cub scout deal in the morning, and engagement party in the afternoon. Should be fun!

Birthday Boy

My little man is now 7. I really can't believe he has gotten so big so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was going through 38 hours of labor with him. And interestingly enough he still takes his time every where he goes. Here is my year in review:

Things I have noticed or you have learned this year:

• you have begun to read so well! you went from being a kid who swore he never wanted to learn to ead to one who reads all the time. I am so proud of you!
• you still have the absolute best imagination ever.
  
• you have really come out of your shell this last year. you are turning into such a fun young man.
  
• you still don't want to learn to ride a bike.
• you love being "NAKED MAN". Yes, I will tell your girlfriends about this when you are older.
• you are no longer a super hero every single day. i really sort of miss it.
  
• you are a super helper with your little brother and sister. you love them so much.
• you still love to snuggle with me. i hope this will last forever, even though i know it won't.
• you love to follow the rules. everything has to be done by the rules. and even better if they are your rules.
• you love being in cub scouts and i love the look on your face at every meeting. you always have so much fun.
• you can talk and talk and talk

• you are one of the sweetest people i know.

Canvas day!!!

So last year I got my first set of gallery wrapped canvases of the kids. I LOVE them!! And I knew that after the babies were born we would be ordering more.


And today, look at what came in! I told Jen the size I wanted and told her to surprise me with the print. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It looks so good on the wall.

And then this weekend I also had Brandon hang some more pictures on the wall behind the couch. I want to make this wall sort of like a collage wall that we build on to.

It is finally starting to feel like we live here. You know what I mean? When you have your things on the walls it just adds a whole new feeling.


Now to figure out where to hang everything else.

Girl's night

B's birthday is tomorrow, so his dad decided to have a guys night with B at his place. Which left me with H and the babies.

So after putting the babies to bed H and I had a fun night bonding. We played a little Mario Cart together , had breakfast for dinner (crepes, yummy!!), and then I introduced her to my favorite child hood book, Anne of Green Gables





We read a good two chapters tonight. I forgot how wordy it is, I hope she can get into it. I know she will love it after she gets the hang of how LM Montgomery writes. I seriously used to read the first five books in that series at least twice if not three times a year. I just love Anne!

Birthday madness

My almost 7 year old had a fabulous party yesterday! We had it at a bounce house place, Jump town, and man the place was pure madness. I hadn't been to a party at this place before but assumed it was like the Pump it up that has separate rooms.

This place was just one huge open area with 4 parties going on at once. The part that sucked was that you had the big kids that pushed through the little kids to get where they wanted. At PIU you had better control over that because you knew the kids there and could police them a little better. But in the end the kids were totally worn out and all had a blast.

Side note: 1.5 hours of jumping is a REALLY long time to be jumping. 1 hour would have been just fine. And when going to a place with a bunch of parties, if you bring ice cream you would be smart to label your ice cream.

Ours got eaten by another party. The manager went out and bought us more but by the time it got there half the guests had left. So now I have a whole bunch of little servings of vanilla ice cream.






And it would be really nice if you could work out a secret code to tell your birthday boy to stop picking his nose long enough to point out what piece of cake he wants. And that it isn't really polite to sit at the table with 25 friends whole picking your nose and eating your boogers. Even though you have lectured him 5 million times about it before.

You also know the kid is tired when he just sits there and looks at his candle after everyone has finished singing and doesn't even attempt to blow it out, even when everyone is yelling blow it out! And then 5 mintues later he finally does it and I miss the shot. ;)

Note my super sweaty boy. This kid sweats more than any other kid I've evr met. Not looking forward to the stinky teen years!





What makes it all so worth it is when you ask the birthday boy if he had fun. and he says "That was the most fun I have ever had in my whole life". That is the best feeling!
