I'm starting to remember what it was like to sleep. We have now had 3 nights of at least 4 hours of consecutive sleep (I will kindly exclude the fact that one of the nights I did not get the full 4 hours of sleep because of my husbands wonderful snoring, while the babies were sound asleep). I feel like a new woman. Now to see if it continues...
We are still nursing around the clock! How long are these growth spurts supposed to last? I feel like its been two weeks of non stop nursing. This is when a clear head would help to remember how long this has been going on for. Now just answer me this, why can't men lactate?I have been told by my loving husband that if he could nurse the babies he would, and I would love to take him up on this. But it is not meant to be, (please let me know if anyone knows of a secret way to make men lactate though!!)
It is definitely time for me to get back to work. I am going a little stir crazy at home. I think I may have to get a crew in here to pry my body off the couch. I've watched about every type of tv show out there and read as many books as I could ever want to read. I really don't know how you fabulous stay at home moms do it. Seriously I don't know how you do it. It is the hardest job in the world!! And I have a fantastic husband who is home during the day to help me out. But I just have to get out of the house or I will literally go crazy. The last time I tried to be a stay at home mom I ended up with a major case of PPD. So for my mental health...watch out Sugar, here I come.

Soooo...apparently over ingestion of testosterone can lead to me producing lactating breasts. But the other side effects are VERY large guns, small rasinettes, and roid-rage. I will do ALL that I can but nursing the twitters is out of my skill set. Watch out Sugar. Here she comes.
I'm so glad to hear that you are getting some sleep. We seem to be getting there as well. Nursing didn't work out for us for various reasons, but our kiddos have upped their intake to as much as 5 ozs at times, so I can imagine how much you must be feeding. We also notice an increase in feedings during the day, which I'd much rather endure than at night.
Sounds like your hubby has been researching the lactation issue... LOL! Good thing he's there to help in other ways. I am a SAHM to my crazy brood and trust me, there are days!! We've hired a nanny this go round to help with such days!
I'm enjoying reading your updates as our kiddos are so close!
Well, now that Oprah's found a pregnant man, maybe a lactating man isn't far behind!
I'm sure Sugar can't wait!! :)
Figuring out a way to get your hubby to lactate can't possibly be worth the amount of therapy they are going to need later in life when they find out they were breast fed by their father. Don't do it! ;)
hmmm, I posted a commnt last evening and now it's gone. Anyway....I know how much sleep is important to the body as well as the mind. I hope you get rest. I was a SAHM and I never had time to sit glued to a couch or watch tons of TV or read mega books. If lucky I got to speed read a newspaper. The picture you painted is far off target. Then again, my husband wasn't around during the day to help out. He had a considerable commute to work.Caring for one infant is hard enough,I'm sure with two its exhausting. Its always good to take some time for yourself to keep rejuvenated but PPD is not caused by staying home.Take advantage of your home situation and share the parental duties and get out some. take care
ok. I have never posted a comment here before but this is hilarious. I am an Allie follower who follows your blog (not in a creepy way). Here is a link you may want to read: http://www.unassistedchildbirth.com/miscarticles/milkmen.html
I thought it was funny!
Debbie~
Our twins were born at 37w2d, not too much farther than you were. Hmmm... I'm curious about the adjusted age thing too!
Hope you had a great night!! Will you go back to work this week? Enjoy your time... there are days I wish I had a job too! I love your photographer by the way!! If only we lived closer!
Tricia-
hmmmm...just now read your comment. Not even sure you will ever read this but I'll respond anyway for my peae of mind.
I guess I should have clarified, the reason I'm sitting on my couch watching so much tv and reading so many books,is because I am nursing 24/7. There really isn't much more you can do when you have two babies attached to your breasts all day long. But since you just had one you may have been able to nurse and get other things done?
Not sure why your other comment is gone, maybe you didn't finish posting it? I don't delete comments unless they are spam.
I'm sorry you felt like I misled people on how a SAHM's life is like or how you could get PPD, but in my case these things were true. Being a SAHM is very hard work and I was not saying that they sit at home and eat bon bons all day long, I was saying that while I am nursing this is what I do all day long. Please note that this is my blog and I am writing about my personal experiences. I am not saying that my experiences are everyone else's. Did I ever say that anywhere? I think not.
My PPD is intensified when I stay at home. Everyone's depression has triggers and staying at home is one of mine. So please do not tell me that PPD is not caused by staying home. I know it is based on a hormonal imbalance due to pregnancy , but certain situations can make it worse. Which is what I was stating.
I feel that you are slightly jealous and insecure. I'm very sad for you. I hope you find your inner peace and happiness soon. Maybe you should blog to voice some of your strong feelings and opinions. I would love to keep up with it. I know you were trying to be understanding in your comment but it really came along as snarky and jealous.
Hope you have a fabulous week.
