Suck War
My latest conversation with 1st grader "B"
b-"So we played this game today and it sucked." (sucked is a new word for him)
me-"really, what was it called?"
b-"suck war"
me- "suck war? why was it called that?"
b-"because it sucked"
me- "ohhhhh, i see"
me- "how did you play this game?"
b-"whoever cries first wins"
me- "so who won?"
b-" the girls won. Janie cried, so the girls won"
me- hmmm (stifling laugh)
b-" and this part isn't funny, so stop laughing. Justin kicked Janie and that's why she cried"
me-"that really isn't funny."
b-"Justin made the girls win"
me-"sounds like Justin needs to learn some manners. You know better than to kick or hit a girl, right?"
b-"Justin is very nice, he just doesn't like girls"
me-"maybe you shouldn't hang out with Justin anymore"

Sleep sorta
Well I got lucky and got 4 whole days of babies sleeping 12 hours in one block but then I told two people about it and last night they reminded me that they were still babies and loved to wake me up all night long! But I do have the feeling that sleep is in our future. Please please please let it be in our future!!!
I've been super busy with work so I don't have any new pics to post but I hope to get some this weekend. It gonna be a busy one but I think it should be fun.
The highlight....a posse gathering! All the girls together. We so need to all reconnect. It has been way to long since we were all together last. And the bonus? We get to go and rub the belly of the sweet birth mom of our newest posset to be. Baby Girl Weintraub is due anytime now. Our trip to rub a belly could possibly turn into a visit her in the hospital trip. Or even a come and snuggle the baby at home, but that would mean that the baby would come tonight. I'm betting she is 2 days past her due date. But I was always late like that. So this is really a big shout out to Tracey...you better not let that sick get the better of you! We need to see you. I am in major Tracey withdrawl! And I know you are dying to see us!!

Best idea ever!
The babies have been growing so fast and they have totally outgrown their baby tub. So when I was catching up on some of my local multiples moms' blogs(and of course I haven't been able to find the post since) I found a great idea that was easy and free for bathing. The woman has quads and she bathes them 2 at a time in laundry baskets in the tub. (I know it sounds strange but it really is worth trying.)
Well I was about to go out and buy bath rings but figured I would try this first. And wouldn't ya know it...it worked and its fabulous! And I didn't have to buy more baby paraphernalia. SCORE! The babies love it because they can hang onto the sides and have back support. I put a little towel underneath them to help with slipping. This has made my life so much easier!!
The babies have been doing really well with their naps lately. We are still taking about 3 naps a day. We have two short naps (about 1hr each) and one long nap(2-3 hrs). Now the part that can suck is that they don't like to take their long nap at the same time. Sometimes Ella does it in the morning and Beck in the afternoon and vice versa. Every now and then they take it at the same time. I try to put them down at the same time for every nap though.
We are still using HSHHC to an extent and its working for us. The biggest help was learning to put them down an hour after they wake up. I would have NEVER thought to do this and it made all the difference in the world. It gets their day off to the right start and they aren't overtired.
Sleeping at night is slowly improving. We are having a few night here and there where one will sleep through the night. but of course never at the same time. In general they are sleeping longer. We did have to do a little cry it out and it did help, which is how I think we got to the point we are at. Can't wait for the night where they both sleep all night long!
The babies are getting so big so fast, and learning so much so fast. I need it all to slow down! They are just so darn cute, we are all loving this stage. The big kids are having a great time remembering all of the old songs we used to sing. They love singing along with me and by themselves to the babies.
There doesn't seem to be any jealousy between the big kids and the babies. It also helps that whenever the babies see the big kids, they get these great big grins on their faces. Its like the big kids are super stars. You can't help but love being around someone who looks at you like that. They help me out so much. I have to say the age difference between the kids is perfect. I seriously couldn't of planned it better.
Now we are off to child proof the whole house. The ful time crawling could begin at any time and we need to be prepared. Fun fun fun.

Lazy Saturday
Finally a day with nothing going on. Chilling on the couch with my hubby and enjoying the sleeping babies. Its a nice day. :)

A little behind...
Wow, time has just gotten away from me this week.
Our busy season has begun at work and we are rushing to get everyone in and done before the newest sugar family member arrives. We are all on pins and needles waiting.
Now instead of my leisurely days of holding babies, being covered in spit up, and getting showered in gummy smiles, I get to add all of my work thoughts to it. I have my mind filled with holiday cards and beautiful images!! I am so lucky to have such a fun job and a fabulous family.
We had a great time last weekend out at the Arboretum. They have their huge pumpkin display out and its a fun place to explore and take pictures. It would have been a perfect day if a certain Miss grumpy pants hadn't been in such a foul mood. H was acting like a moody teenager and she's only 9. I was about to pull my hair out and I just kept telling myself she hasn't even hit puberty yet. If this is what we have to look forward to I'm looking into some boarding schools!!!!
We did get some fun shots but it was all tainted by the bad mood. ERRRRGGGGGG! But at least she smiled for the camera. :) And Mr. B actually smiled in almost all of the pics. I know...its amazing! The babies on the other hand were more interested in the straw and pumpkins to pay any attention to a pesky camera.
Babies are starting to rock and crawl. Ella has actually made a few crawling steps forward to get to a mirror (it starts already!) and Beck can now roll his way over to any food. They both spend hours on their hands and knees rocking back and forth. Beck is figuring out how to wave and Ella was mimicking my hand movements to twinkle, twinkle. They are growing so fast!!
