Seriously?

I did not realize that its almost been a week since I last posted. I thought I did just a day or two ago, time flies when you don't get any sleep! Tired is the word of the week in our household.

The crankiness in the evenings is not changing much. They seem to deprive us of sleep for 3-4 days and then give in for a day or two and the cycle starts all over again. I have read all of the popular sleep books and according to them, I can't even start sleep training for 4 more weeks. We have to be at least 6 weeks past our actual due date to start anything. Now please note that it is not the easiest thing to actually comprehend what you are reading about better sleep when you have not had any. I'm sure I missed some major points! (and if any of my sentences don't make sense , it is due to the sleep deprivation as well)

We have also learned in this new fussy period (from 7 pm to 3am) that here is almost no point in leaving the house after 7 pm. They just want to cry the entire time, if they are not hooked up to a boob. Its a tag team act, very entertaining.

Just had my 6 week check up today with the OB and everything is looking good. Got the fabulous Mirena put in today and now will not have to worry about birth control for the next 5 years!! Was not the most pleasant experience getting it put in but the end result is so worth it!

I'll put some new pics up later, they are all on the computer, and seeing as I'm hooked up to babies at the moment walking across the room is out of the question.

I really believe that Sam's sleep was so screwed up because of his NICU stay - all those bright lights and beeping machines and all that crap for the first week of his life - it just couldn't have set the right tone for his circadian rhythm.

I won't tell you how many years, er, I mean MONTHS, yes, that's what I meant, months, it took for him to sleep through the night.

The preemie sleep issues. Blah. Hang in there!
