B had his first Boy Scout Pinewood Derby today. And for our den he won first place! We also went and competed in the pack finals and made it all the way to the 3rd heat but then lost. I think we had more fun with it than he did. He was literally sitting and playing with his Bionical (sp?) when he won the race and I had to take it away from him so that he would stand in the picture with his trophy. And then of course the poor kids who didn't win were so upset. I felt so bad for them. But since my kid rarely wins this type of thing, I was pretty pumped. Brandon and one of his buddies cut the car out of the block of wood. And then Ben painted it all up. I think it looks cute. Can you call a derby car cute?
this is his car (right next to the baconater)

Brandon has some major plans for next years car, that he has assured me will win the whole thing. :) Who is this competetion for again?

OK, now that is funny......he will crack up when he sees these pix when he is older. :) Adorable Deb- glad y'all had fun! Summer
P.S. Ben is so little- is he the same age as the others? Summer
This is so funny!I showed them to Mason and he was telling me all about Mike helping Brandon. Mason said he wished we could have gone to watch, so next time B has a race, please let us know and we'll come watch Brandon and his fancy car! LOL!
Oh yeah, and Mas is asking when his car will be ready! So, tell Brandon he can make a trial car for Mason, just to make sure it will "win it all" next year! ;)
Summer- He is the shortest kid in his den but all of the kids in that pic are older kids as well. :) But all of the dad's from our den are SUPER TALL!
Alisha- They had so much fun planning the car in the one night we did it. :) Brandon and Mike had more fun planning it than the boys did. Boys and their toys!!!!
I totally believe that! Mike was always that way! Glad the big boys and little guys had so much fun!
The Parents. It's for the Parents!
Great pics - so cute!
