Sorry

I have been in a bit of a blogging rut. I just need to get back in the saddle and start blogging again.

And I'm not going to be able to post any pics for a bit. Beck pulled my camera off the table and it hit the ground lens first. I have the worst camera karma with this camera! Now the lens is toast. The feet that hold the lens onto the camera are broken. Why do they make them out of plastic? So now I am searching for my new lens. We have already replaced the lens once before when it fell on the NICU floor the day the babies were born. And then we had to send the body in to fixed the cracked insides. So basically I have bought this camera twice. Its a good thing I LOVE it. :)

I am also in a bit of a life change mode. The photography business has slowed down a lot! And we just weren't getting enough business in for me to go in and work and to keep our bills paid. I also have really enjoyed these last few months off with the kids and my man. So now I am on the search for the perfect stay at home job that brings in just enough money to pay the bills.

Any ideas? I think I am going to try and watch a few kids at home. And when I say a few, I mean 2. With 2 soon to be toddlers at the house already I don't think I can handle much more.

But I figure I have all of the toys, space and time on my hands, might as well have some playmates for the babies during the day as well. I would love to find some kids right around the twins age. At the moment I'll take anything. But it would be great if they were close in age. It would make it easier to plan age appropriate activities.

So if you are in the Allen/Plano/McKinney area and need some child care, shoot me a message! If you were looking for at home care, where would you look for it, other than word of mouth? I'm trying to figure out what would be best.

Mamasource! Try that! That is where I went to find my at home sitter a couple of years ago!

Good luck with that! It will be nice to have playmates for the twins without you having to take them somewhere!

There are tons of people doing the same thing as you so it's a bit competitive. With the economy the way it is I've noticed a huge amount of new home daycare's opening. The paper, craigslist, word of mouth, churches, local hospitals have newsletters you could advertise in. I hope you find some munchkins soon, if not hang in there summer is on it's way and soon people will be scrambling to find care for their school age children.

Another option could be having an after school day care..specifically kids your older two's age..I always wished I could have put my kids into a safe 'family' environment after school rather than the impersonal daycares they had to attend. There is a real need out there..

First - GAH on the camera. That sucks. I'm sorry.

I agree with Lisa L. The first thing I thought of was after school care (uh, and I might be needing some for my 3 in the Plano area come August). I guess that wouldn't help over the summer, but you *might* find a great gig for the school year, and it would be a lot easier than little ones all day!

I'm loving the afterschool idea! and I could do some summer care for kids as well. This is way better then what I was thinking. And then I don't get trapped in the house with little ones all day long. Thanks ladies!!

an other thought for next school year is teacher's children...you follow a school calendar pretty much (some in service days) but you work and then have vacations and summers off.
