And picked up a few books from the authors you guys suggested. It was a fast trip with screamy twins so hopefully I picked out some good ones. I'll let you all know what I think.
I got a couple from Tess Gerrtisen (The Surgeon and The Apprentice) and a couple from Robert Parker (Night and Day- a Jesse Stone novel and Now & Then- a Spenser novel).
I had planned on doing a bit of searching but when you have toddlers that won't use inside voices you don't end up with much time. :)
The twins are now in bed and I am ready to hit the couch and get some reading in.

I've read both of those Robert Parker books, but can't remember exactly which ones they are. My memory...ugh.
Enjoy! Something I recently learned is that the old series Spenser, For Hire was based off of Parker's books.
More recently, there's also been a Jesse Stone series starring Tom Selleck. While Tom is sexy as ever, he's not the Jesse I had in my mind. Too old. I don't watch much TV, so can't say whether it's true to the books or not.
Enjoy!
Debbie,
I've recently found some "me reading time", and am loving getting back to reading for myself instead of just parenting books and books to my little chicken nuggets. Thanks for posting the list of recommendations! I have one to recommend. I picked it up on Saturday night and finished it this morning. I completely devoured it! Every spare second I had I read, it's THAT GOOD. "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. Make sure to read that one! You'll LOVE IT!
