hmmm...my honeymoon period with zantac seems to be waning. babies are slowly getting more fussy again in the evening and not sleeping as well through the night. is it because i moved them to their own room and the lack of sleep is making them cranky or is it the medicine not being as effective? or is it something else altogether? babies are still a thousand times better than they were before but i hate to back peddle.
had to give one of our dogs away yesterday. so sad. she started biting, growling, and acting neurotic. can't risk a biting dog with kids and babies. SPCA has her and is thankfully a no kill shelter. i think the babies crying pushed her over the edge. hope she finds a new home with no kids that will give her lots of love. and maybe she won't be as neurotic.
h's birthday party is this weekend. she is going to be 9!!! i just can't believe it. they grow up way to fast. having a cupcake decorating party with a luau theme. should be lots of fun! :)
school is almost out, what are we going to do with the kids for three whole months? at least their dad will get to worry about one of those months. but why are we back to three freakin months of summer....way too much.
in a funk. cross your fingers that the babies sleep better tonight!

My former nannykid A. had severe reflux from the time she was a tiny baby until now (she was a premie). It took a few different meds to find one that really worked for, so maybe Zantac's not the right one for you guys? Prevacid ended up working best for her, and she took it every night & rarely had reflux.
So sad about your dog :-( after A. was born, the R.'s (former employers) had to put down their great dane. He literally went crazy. It was very sad.
But have fun with the birthday party! Luau cupcakes sounds like a lot of fun :-)
Big hugs to you. Sleep deprivation is the one thing about having babies that I would change, if I ruled the world.
Hang in there - have a drink with an umbrella in it after that Luau party!
Hang in there Mama- at least it is better than it was..... :( So sad about your dog, but sounds like what you had to do. I bet Hannah's bday is going to be a blast-- can't wait to see pix! Hugs- Summer
You have my sympathies! I had one with reflux and that was bad enough!
A few tips: Have the babies been gaining weight? Zantac has to be adjusted according to their weight. You could call your ped to make sure they are getting the correct doasge amount for their weights.
Also, try increasing their evening feed ....maybe they are going through a growth spurt and are waking up hungry? Thus leading to fussiness?
I am sorry about your dog! Anyways, I have been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first time to comment. Your babies will outgrow their fussiness....mine did and he's the best 7 year old now! BUT, it still doesn't erase my memories of 3 months of hell! :)

Sorry to hear that things aren't going well. I'll pray that things get better for the babies and parents!
Sorry also that you had to give your dog away. I know how upsetting that can be.
Zantac is very sensitive to weight. Prevasit isn't...maybe switch? Hope this helps.

One of my twin girl's had major reflux and no meds helped her. She was on the prevacid until about 18 months. The Prevacid helped with the acid part of the reflux but the sensation of it coming up and down (she was not a pitter) was too much for her. So we thickened her formula with Simply Thick. That stuff was the best! It really helped weigh it down in her tummy. I know that you are nursing but i wanted to just share that just in case. My daughter eventually refused to eat when she was an infant because she hated the sensation of the reflux and had trouble gaining weight so the Simply thick worked wonders for us.
Hope things get better soon.
Enjoy the party!!!!
