Hey hey hey

Got my lens back from the camera shop!!! And I talked to them about the problems I'm having with my 50mm. Did you know that they just came out with a new 50mm that will AF on the d40 body? I think I'm gonna go and trade up. He also told me to check my diopter (which is the first thing I did, and the focus problem still happened) and he also said that if you look at the the little info bar in the viewfinder a little green light will light up when the camera is in focus. Good to know. But I'm really thinking getting the new one with the AF will be much easier to shoot with.

Okay- admission time- I fell of the shred wagon again last week. I only have 5 freaking days left of it. So my goal this week is to finish it out. And then (because I have enjoyed the results of Jillian's torture so much) I think I will continue doing it about 3 times a week. My MIL just gave me a pilates dvd that I am excited about trying. I'll let you know how that goes.

We went to the Dr for the twins 15 month check up last Friday. They are both doing really well. They talked up a storm to the Dr. while we in the office. He got a big kick out of it. They still aren't walking but he said they are still right on schedule. They would most likely be walking in the next couple of weeks.

Does this mean that I have to stop knocking them down every time they stand up? ;)

He was also commenting on how healthy they have been especially with two older school aged siblings. I told him that was because we let them eat off of the ground. And he laughed and we said no really and he laughed again. We just left it at that.

But seriously they throw so much food down that if we don't pick it all up they will start eating it all. I figure they just needed a change of venue, right? And they are building up precious antibodies for all of the viruses and germs. At least that's what I tell myself when I am too lazy to clean up their mess immediately.

We have also started the destructo stage. They have figured out how to open pretty much everything and love to pull everything out. Like today they pulled my wireless card out of the desktop and I had to search high and low for it in order to get back online. At least the bathroom doors were shut and they haven't figured out how to flush yet. So tomorrow we are officially on to round 2 of baby proofing the house. Child locks are our friends!

Here are a few shots from today.

Yes he is chewing on pill bottles and his shirt is super dirty. You know, we are going for parents of the year. But the bottles make fun shaky noises.

And here is little bit trying out her climbing legs

And we made it to our goal!
Its hard keeping up with brother!

here are the stats, more for my records than yours:
Beck- 26lbs 4 oz (75%) /31 1/2"(50-75%)
Ella- 20lbs 2 oz (10-25%) / 27 3/4" (under 3%)

but yes you did read that correctly- 6 lbs difference (used to be 8lbs) and 4 inches. she is working hard to catch up!

The constant dropping of food on the floor? We used to call it "floor flavor". I think all kids between the ages of 12 and 20 months think it is a fantastic addition to any meal.

Wow!! Your babies are getting SO big. My fellas have figured out how to get into everything too. My kitchen is always insanely crazy. Boxes, plasticware, pans, you name it...they're playing with it!

Oh...and I think I may upgrade my 50mm too. This having to manual focus is for the birds.

A friend has ONE cabinet full of plastic bowls and lids that the kids play with. They know that it is THEIR cabinet to play in and it works. It keeps them out of the others.

I especially love how no one has pants on ;)
I can't believe how much bigger your little guy looks than his sister. They are just to cute!

I've been meaning to write and tell you I started the Shred b/c of you. I am on day 15 and loving it. {Ya know when I am not cussing her out!} Thanks for the recommendation!

It is amazing how big they have gotten. I can't believe how long it's been since I found you through Jenny's blog.

Long time follower here. I also shoot with a Nikon D40x and I'm fustrated with my 50mm 1.8 lens because half the time, I can't nail the focus. Can you give me the scoop on the new lens? I checked Nikon's website and they have a new 35 mm showing, but I wasn't sure if that was it? Thanks!
